The Power of Hybrid Design
The High Broad Silicon Carbide Tiles combines two complementary materials: a pressureless sintered SiC ceramic strike face that erodes and fractures incoming projectiles, and a multi-layer aramid fabric backing that catches fragments and controls back-face deformation (BFD). This hybrid architecture delivers an optimized balance of protection, weight, and cost.
Compared with Al₂O₃-aramid panels, the SiC version weighs 15-18% less. Compared with B₄C-aramid panels, it delivers virtually equivalent protection at 45-55% lower material cost.

SiC tiles are bonded to aramid layers under controlled heat and pressure in an autoclave, ensuring void-free adhesive distribution and consistent bond strength across the entire panel surface.
Thermal Stability
Aramid fabric maintains its mechanical properties from -40°C to +160°C, providing consistent ballistic performance across extreme operational temperature ranges.
Multi-Curve Forming
The aramid backing can be formed into single-curve and multi-curve shapes during lamination to match torso geometry for improved wearer comfort in body armor applications.
